Celine, and her parents, Jack and Bella, used to be a happy, normal family living in Perth. That was, until one fateful event changed everything.
Celine had witnessed her dad talking secretly, with a hooded stranger on their porch in the dead of night, and then without warning, reason or explanation, Jack disappeared from their lives.
Her mum, refused to talk of the incident insisting that he’d return soon. But where was he to return to, for almost immediately they’d been uprooted to an old derelict mansion, on the island of Arran leaving behind her best friends, James and Carl. A building they'd visited the year previous, whilst on a happy family holiday.
A building that is more like a prison for Celine, for she’s not allowed to explore the grounds around their new home, neither is she allowed in the basement which her mum keeps locked.
Just what is she doing down there?
No matter what Bella says, Celine couldn’t believe her dad would just leave them and refuses to let the matter drop. He isn’t dead, she knows that much, but just, where is he and who is the hooded stranger?

About the Author
Live for the fantasy
I’ve always loved the way I can make a character do almost anything, even the seemingly impossible. Or at the very least something I’d be too afraid to tackle myself.
Of course, with every story there’s always some form of research, and for me this is as awesome as writing the story itself. I love delving into a gritty bit of history, or Greek and Norse mythology.
And when I’m not writing, I love to get outdoors with my family: I can usually be spotted in some wood or on a Scottish hill hunting for little plastic boxes. Geocaching is a fantastic outdoor hobby which provides me with numerous amounts of inspiration for my writing.
There’s nothing more soothing for the brain than traipsing into an unknown world.
As a young girl, I loved nothing more than writing fantastical stories, and plays, about the majestical and daring adventures my dolls, and my brothers action men, would embark upon.
